To be held within the Classroom at The Daily News, Longview, Washington – Saturday, April 4; Riding at Alpha Riding Academy, Castle Rock, Washington – Sunday, April 5. Hosted by the Lower Columbia Chapter - ODS - open to members and non-members. Riding Participants (limited to 10 private riding sessions) – includes Classroom Session and one Auditor Pass for Sunday riding session. Riding times will be scheduled from 9:15 a.m. on throughout the day. Individual sessions are 45 minutes: LCC Members $100 – extra rides $65 (extra rides will be held on Saturday morning). Others $125 – extra rides $80 (extra rides will be held on Saturday morning). Haul-In Fee is $10 and may be waived for volunteering. Classroom/Pilates (no riding) – Saturday 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Required of all riders. Group Session. LCC Members $35; Others $45. Auditors: $10 – badges will be provided. Participants to provide their own 65 mm exercise ball, mat (if desired) and horse. Riding Participants fee includes the Classroom Session and can not be discounted. Space reservations should be made as soon as possible with a minimum 50% deposit. The deposit may be refunded only if space is filled by another participant. Day of clinic (Saturday) all participants will be required to sign a waiver/release. Upon receipt of deposit, participants will be emailed addresses of both locations along with their confirmation. Carrie is a well known Pacific Northwest Eventing instructor with a special interest in dressage, who is also an active and successful competitor through advanced level on her own and clients' horses. She is a very positive instructor who helps riders bring out the best in their horses as well as themselves. Before coming to the United States in 1999, Stacey Lucko rode for British Columbia on their NAYR dressage team. She is a Level 1 Instructor certified by Equine Canada and has won several national awards including the 2008 High Score Hanoverian at "Dressage at Devonwood". To be held at the Tri-H Arena in Bozeman, MT. This four-day clinic includes work with nine horses and riders per day. Dr. Heuschmann will address the major topics in his recent book, “Tug of War”. We hope for a variety of horses at different levels so that Dr. Heuschmann will be able to demonstrate exercises that will most benefit each horse. By describing the basic anatomy and physiology of the horse, Dr Heuschmann will identify widely-used incorrect training methods—especially in dressage—that can undermine a horse's health and well-being and will offer solutions that do not cause pain or fail to respect the mental habits and physiological needs of the horse. This event will be of interest to: Equine Health professionals, including veterinarians, and physiotherapists; coaches; Technical Officials; Junior and Senior Riders; Parents. To be held at Make Your Mark Stables, Springfield, OR. This camp is designed for the adult rider to have concentrated away time with your horse. You will be riding at least twice a day. There will be some lectures, quadrille practice and time for visiting with friends new and old. Auditor fee is $25.00 per day. Riders Camp fee is $450.00; half of the camp fees are due with your registration form. All camp fees are due by August 10th. Levels offered: USDF Intro A & B, USEA Beginner Novice Test A, Novice Test A, USEF Training Level Tests 1 - 4; 1st to 3rd level to be added based on preentry interest. $5.00 parking fee for auditors. Warm-up begins at 7:00am until 8:00am, classes begin at 9:00am Sept. 19th Entries open to all riders and horses, all underage riders and horse teams MUST be accompanied by an adult instructor or trainer, no riders under 10 years of age, without prior approval of the show manager (Heath Curry). All scoring will be done in the spirit of USEF and USDF rules and remarks protocol as written in the USEF rule book. This is not a sanctioned event, however all tack/bits will be USEF rules, attire is flexible, and boots and breeches not required but encouraged.
