She uses the principles of classical dressage to increase the effectiveness of the rider in any discipline. Auditing is only $10 per day for E.I. members and $25 for non-members, and no pre—registration is required, except if you wish to participate in the on-site hot lunch program. The clinic organizer, Karen Moore, has generously volunteered to arrange this meal on Saturday and Sunday. For the bargain price of $5 you can enjoy a lunch catered by "3 Peas in a Pod", a local restaurant that employs disadvantaged teens. They make a terrific Mac N Cheese and Lasagna. Salads will also be available. If you would like to participate in the on-site lunch program you need to pre-order this through Karen Moore at Pacific Moon. During the clinic we will be selling raffle tickets and auctioning off some exciting baskets of goodies donated by local businesses. Funds raised will assist qualified riders JR/YR with funds to transport and care for their horses and themselves to and from the Championships in Kentucky. This is amazing group of young people are our future trainers, competitors, volunteers and horse people, many of whom will have a tremendous impact on the future of our sport. Ride-A-Test is an effective and fun way to prepare for dressage competition or just hone your skills. Riders choose a test (through 4th level.) They ride through the test and will be judged on a normal score sheet. Brandy will go over the ride and provide a 10-15 minute mini-lesson on how to improve the test. Then they re-ride the test and try to improve their score. Both rides and Brandy’s comments will be recorded on DVD. Each half-hour session costs $40, including the DVD. To be held at Future Street Farm, 19810 JW Brown Road, Bend, Oregon 97701. This year Michael Etherly and Nicki Grandia will be the camp instructors. The camp format is two private lessons with each instructor and one semi private with each, for a total of 6 lessons. Cost is $485 and includes all meals during the camp. Adult camps are designed to be an intensive, fun, learning experience in a summer camp-like atmosphere for the committed adult rider at any level or experience. The purpose of the camp is to help adult riders "get away from it all" - the pressures of job, family and friends - so they can immerse themselves in dressage and greatly accelerate the learning process. Riders and horses are encouraged stay at the camp facility, getting a chance to make new friends and riding several times daily. Mounted and unmounted sessions expand the riders' knowledge of dressage riding, showing, and theory. This is filling quickly (only 12 riders can attend) so please register early!
