Oregon Dressage Society Membership FAQ
Q: How long does it take to process my membership and receive my membership card?
A: ODS has one part-time office administrator. Applications are normally processed within 3 to 5 days of receipt, however can take up to four weeks to be processed, depending on current volume. Applications received after September 1 are held until October 1 unless they have been requested to be processed immediately.
Q: I have a show tomorrow. Can I receive my membership number and card immediately?
A: If your request is presented during normal office hours (Monday-Thursday 1 - 4), we can normally take a rush application with a $10 rush processing fee. Otherwise, membership applications will be processed in order received, and will be backdated to postmarked date on envelope or recorded date on fax.
Q: I had a show last weekend. Can ODS backdate my membership so that my scores count towards year end awards?
A: Unfortunately, unless you joined at the show prior to scores being earned or mailed your application so that it has a postmark before the scores were earned, we are unable to backdate your membership.
Q: How do I obtain a duplicate membership card?
A: Duplicate membership cards will be issued for a fee of $10. Please call the ODS Office with a credit card number or mail a check with written request and we will issue you a replacement card within 5 days.
Q: I recently joined - is there a way to check online to see if your office has processed my membership?
A: ODS maintains a membership list - you can view it by clicking this link (note that this is a PDF file).
Q: I joined recently so where is my copy of Flying Changes? How do I report missing issues of Flying Changes?
A: It can take up to six weeks to get you onto the Flying Changes mailing list. The deadline is the 7th of the month for the following month's issue - so to receive the January issue of Flying Changes, your membership will need to be in the ODS Office with ample time for processing prior to December 7th. If your membership application is processed after December 7th, you should receive the February issue as your first issue. Please call or e-mail the ODS Office if you have missing issues.
