Dear ODS Members,

The ODS Annual Awards Banquet was held Saturday, September 1st at the Holiday Inn in Wilsonville, OR. We had approximately 100 attendees and hope that if you were unable to make this year’s banquet that you plan ahead to attend next year’s banquet (Saturday night of the 2008 Championship Show).

• 2007 President’s Choice Horse Ambassador — Parocco owned by Jennifer Smith of Spokane, WA ridden by Jeremy Steinberg of Redmond, WA

The following other awards were given at the banquet:

• Honorary Lifetime Membership Award — Joyce Stride
• Joyce was honored by the ODS Board for her years of service and dedication to the mission of Oregon Dressage Society. A member since the early 1970’s, Joyce has held many officer positions in both her chapter and on the ODS Executive Board. She has been recognized by ODS by receiving the Teresa Dunlap Trophy in 1991, Volunteer of the Year in 2000, and again in 2002. In 2004, she was recognized for her volunteer service by USDF with a Region 6 volunteer of the year award. Joyce has been instrumental in the ODS Youth Programs and has touched many young riders lives. She has served as the ODS 4-H Liaison, where, among other things, she helped to create the Oregon 4-H Dressage Manual which is a national model. Joyce has also been the ODS Historian and is currently the Chair of the ODS Special Awards Committee. For these reasons and many more, the ODS Board voted unanimously to give Joyce an ODS Honorary Lifetime Membership.
