Region 6 seeks Volunteer Coordinator and Awards Helpers for Championship Show

July 22nd, 2009

The Region 6 show is September 25 – 27 at DevonWood Equestrian Centre in Sherwood, OR.  Our show committee is ran by 100% volunteers.   We’re still in need of the following key volunteers.  Please contact Rose Newman (360)281.-6550 or rose_newman@yahoo.com if you’re interested in volunteering or would like more information.

Volunteer Coordinator Chair – person needed

This person is most active from about one month before the competition through final clean up. However, the volunteers should be contacted about four to six weeks before the competition – any earlier, and people tend to forget.  The coordinator organizes and schedules all the volunteers needed during the competition and arranges any pre-competition meetings for volunteer orientation.  List of positions and duties for show volunteers will be supplied to VC.  VC chair works closely with show manager.

Awards Helpers – Trenna Atkins, chair

This group is responsible for planning the awards ceremony schedule.  Collects and organizes all ribbons and awards.  In charge of organization of awards office for handing out tests and awards. Post show inventory and return.   Helpers needed Friday – Sunday for tests/ awards handout.  Additional helper(s) needed for Championship jacket sizing/order and cooler handout.  Ideally at least three people each day.
