Call for Volunteers – Spring into Dressage
It is that time of the year again – Spring Into Dressage at DevonWood, our North Willamette Valley Chapter’s recognized show.
I have “volunteered” once again – to be the “Volunteer Coordinator” for the show -
So I’m sending out this email to ask you to seriously consider how you might be involved this year.
So far – the show is scheduled to run:
- Friday (March 20) for 8am – 6pm
- Saturday (March 21) from 7a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Sunday (March 22) for 6 ½ – 7 hours
The volunteer positions are:
- Scribe Friday and Sunday – would like to break these days into 2 timeframes of approx 3 – 4 hours each -or one full day.
- Saturday - again either 2 full day equivalents (8hours) or 4 half day equivalents (4 hours).
- Runner (must have a valid ODL) Can break into 2-hour volunteer slots per day
- Scorers Need two Volunteers for each time slot. Can break these into 2 hours each.
So we need LOTS of Volunteers each day
- Announcer Need one Announcer at a time. It is best to have an announcer for 3-4hours, but we can break this up according to your availability.
- Show arena check-in & equipment check: need one person at the gate at a time. Can break-up into two-hour timeframes
- Warm-up arena check-in & gatekeeper: Need one person at the gate at a time. The first gatekeeper of the day must arrive ½ hour prior to first scheduled  ride per USEF rules
- Gofer – Would like one gofer at all times to help “float”. Will help the Office Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, and be a general ”fill-in” where needed
Please connect with me to let me know what you’d like to volunteer doing, which day, and what time will work best for you.
I am so looking forward to having a ball at this show, like we did last year
(oh, yeah, IÂ almost forgot – we have snow coming in sideways but we managed to have fun anyway with people and horses we love, a heater, blankets and lots of candy!)
Please call me – 503-949-0156 – cell or email me – jackson4@countrycablevision.net. (I will warn you, our internet provider is new and has lots of problems staying up…so if you don’t hear back from me within a day or two, please call me, because I won’t know you’re trying to reach me.)
