Siskiyou Chapter Reports Successful League Show, Thanks Volunteers

April 29th, 2009

The Siskiyou Chapter – ODS had its first League Show on Sunday and it turned out to be a grand success.  The weather was perfect.  Cygnet Farm was welcoming and beautiful and we had many happy competitors who rode for Lynn Reid and benefited from her generous encouragement and evaluation.  Lynn spoke with each competitor, complimenting and giving helpful insight to foster the improvement of each team.  It lent a very positive air to the whole day.  Furthermore, Lynn donated her whole fee to Equamore.  The office work was done quietly and efficiently by Rachel Merusi with our new computer program. She is a rock.   Helen Merusi provided a wonderful healthy snack bar which was very well received.  Kathleen Pugh made beautiful huge flower arrangements which adorned the office and entry.  Victoria King and Kathleen Pugh scribed half-days for the judge and the Eisenburgs pulled a long day of parking trailers, heading up the volunteers and ring management.  Dave Keiser and the Littlefields honchoed the ring set-up and removal which is key and quite a bit of work.  Kathleen Daugherty worked all day as ring steward in the warm-up and said it was pretty fun.  There was much good feedback about the whole day. So thanks to all the volunteers and competitors for making this first show a very pleasant experience. We hope to see you all in July for summer competition and a barbeque.  It’s going to be the perfect summer experience by the pond at lovely Cygnet Farm.
