News Flash from Flying Changes
NEWS FLASH!
Good news regarding EHV-1! Both the Oregon & Washington state veterinarians have made statements saying ‘It appears the virus has been contained’. I spoke with Dr. Hansen (OR) this morning. He said “We’ve passed the quarantine times for infected and non-infected premises.” Dr. Hansen plans to issue a full statement at www.oregonvma.org today.
On the website www.agr.wa.gov, Dr. Eldridge (WA) states “Any horse that has not tested positive, exhibited symptoms, or been exposed to a confirmed positive horse can be cleared for travel.” Washington’s website also contains “Recommendations for Horse Show/Event Managers Regarding EHV-1 Biosecurity Procedures” – great tips for managers & competitors.
Please feel free to share this news! Flying Changes Magazine have a more complete report on how the outbreak affected Northwest riders, businesses, and events in our July issue.
