In February, the ODS Board of Directors approved our request to become an official chapter. Our Chapter represents riders in Wallowa County, which is in the farthest northeastern corner of the state. We are all really excited to come together for fun and education and to bring more awareness to and participation in the discipline of dressage to our rural county.

We had our first fundraiser on May 7. We joined forces with the Nez Perce Riders 4H club to put on a tack sale. The sale was reasonably well-attended, and we hope to make this an annual event.

On April 29, 30 and May 1, we welcomed Andrea Parker for a three-day clinic. Without exception, participants had a great time and were able to bring their riding and their horses to the next level. Everyone was so happy that, before the weekend was over, we invited Andrea to come back for three days in July. Dates are July 8, 9 and 10.

We will put on our first show, Eagle Cap Dressage Show, on Saturday, June 11. It will be the first of a three-show series, co-sponsored with the Northeast Oregon Chapter. Andrea Parker will return as our judge and will offer lessons on the day following the show. We welcome riders from near and far.
