FVC Chapter News for June/July 2011:
Alas we had to cancel the Fort Vancouver Dressage Show due to EVH-1 virus…maybe next year will work out better. Thanks to all the volunteers, competitors as well as paid staff who were so understanding of the change in plans!
Right now the chapter is gearing up for our upcoming Trail Course Obstacle Clinic. This is a free event being held July 10th at Eileen Parent’s Summerfield Farm in Ridgefield, WA. We intend to get things started around 10 a.m. and will go until it gets too warm to be outdoors or we are all experts! Jim Pierce has agreed to be our clinician and he should be a big help in helping us all get our arena babies to try something different!
The intention of this clinic is to be VERY low key as well as low pressure. We hope to see a bunch of you folks we haven’t seen out in awhile. If you are looking for a motivating factor, well, we are also going to have a barbeque after the clinic. This should be a nice day to brush the dust off the horse trailers, get the horses out doing something different, and all get to know each other again while enjoying barbeque! If you are interested in coming, please rsvp to Denise Saxon at dsaxon9454@yahoo.com and I’ll get you on the list.
We are always looking to see new people at the meetings. Our next meeting is June 27th at 7pm at the Salmon Creek Roundtable Pizza. The more, the merrier! We have a lot of great stuff in the works, so come to the meeting and get in on the ground floor of the planning!
