State of Jefferson Chapter Report

February 25th, 2011

I thought as the new President of the Chapter that it was time to let the other Chapters know exactly what is going on in the Southern part of our wonderful Sate of Jefferson (Southern Oregon).

This year is going to be GREAT!!! . We started off with our Annual Holiday Party, hosted by Bernice Pohlmann. We decided due to weather in the past would be held in January. We had a fantastic turn out, lots and I do mean lots of great food.   Annual Awards were included. Our Awards Committee Michelle Evans and Elaine Thomas came up with some really innovative awards, thanks for that.  Sonja Biada, swooped the event with High Point as a First Level Rider.  She also received the “Trainer of the Year”.  Her student Hanna Andrews received a plaque for being the “youngest rider with the oldest horse”.  Ed Miller, received the “Oldest Rider” awardJ Peggy Siders, received the “Volunteer of the Year” award.  Tina Venzion, received the Highest Scoring Rider of our League shows for the year, she received the Julie Lyle Memorial Trophy.  It was quite an evening.
