Twin Rivers Chapter Report – August 2011

August 8th, 2011

trc-logo

Twin Rivers hosted their annual League Show July 31 at McKenzie View Acres.  55 riders competed in classes ranging from Training to Third Level.  Positive comments from our patient judge, Kathy Casey were appreciated by all.

For chapter members seeking to grow their understanding of dressage, the club voted in July to extend their educational stipends.  In addition to providing a $25 reimbursement for attending clinics, chapter members can be reimbursed $50 for attending an educational event.  Both reimbursements are dependent on the delivery of a clinic report to the club.

Our annual summer BBQ will be held on Aug 21 at Jim and Sally Temple’s home.  It will start at 3 PM and the chapter will furnish hamburgers & pop.  However, we’d like people to bring some type of side dish to expand the variety of food offerings. Need directions?  Call Sally at (541)935-7567.

TRC’s Summer Sizzler Practice Dressage Show in Eugene will not be held on 5/29

May 25th, 2011

The Twin Rivers Chapter has announced that the previously scheduled “Summer Sizzler Practice Show” which was to be held on May 29th will not be held this weekend due to a voluntary quarantine at the host facility.

It is possible that the show will be postponed until later this summer/early fall, however at this point in time, a date has not been scheduled.

If you have an entry turned in for this show, you will receive a communication directly from the show’s management.  If you have any other questions about this cancellation, please contact Marsha Taylor at squeaky@epud.net or (541) 345-1079

April Report for the Twin Rivers Chapter – ODS

April 6th, 2011

trc-logo

The annual Twin Rivers Chapter Tack Sale on March 28 was a smashing success.   Sarah Kress generously made her lovely indoor arena at EsKay Equestrians,Inc.  available to us again for the sale.   Led by our indefatigueable Sally Temple, club members rallied to collect, label, and merchandise over 1000 pieces of tack and clothing.  The event not only drew club members but also members of our equestrian community outside of dressage.  Volunteers and patrons alike stayed to hunt for  bargains and catch up with friends they hadn’t seen over the winter months.

Twin Rivers Chapter Report

May 10th, 2010

On March 7th Twin Rivers Chapter hosted its 10th annual tack sale held at Serendipity Farms in Junction City.  We had well over 1000 items and sold more tack than ever.  The money from the sale partially goes into our member education fund.

Ilene Nessenson then gave a saddle fitting mini- clinic for us on April 11. We learned about the parts of both English & Western saddles, horse back confirmation and saddle evaluation. We had three “model” horses & broke into 3 groups working w/ these horses trying on and evaluating the MANY saddles that Ilene and the participants had brought to the clinic.

We are gearing up for our second annual League show, A Mid-Summer’s Night Dream, on July 11 at McKenzie View Farms in Eugene.  Kathy Casey again is our judge & Sally Temple will be our show Secretary and Manager.  We have gathered many cool prizes, we hope to see you all there!

In the Fall TRC will be the host chapter for the ODS convention to be held here in Eugene.  That too should be interesting and exciting.
