ODS Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Division Awards

The ODS Awards Committee is the standing committee in charge of all ODS Awards Programs including ODS Horse/Rider Awards. From this committee, a chair is appointed.

Depending on volunteer schedules, ODS Horse/Rider Awards are mailed between late February and early April following the end of the competition year.

    • The following in-hand divisions will be recognized for year-end awards by ODS. They may be offered and may vary at the discretion of competition management, but classes other than these will not count toward year-end awards:

    In-Hand Awards
    a) Weanling fillies
    b) Weanling colts and geldings
    c) Yearling colts and geldings
    d) Yearling fillies
    e) Two-year-old colts and geldings
    f) Two-year-old fillies
    g) Three-year-old colts and geldings
    h) Three-year-old fillies

    Materiale
    a) Fillies and Mares
    b) Colts and Stallions

    Eligibility Requirements
    1. Awards must be earned at ODS/USEF/USDF recognized competitions during the current membership year (November 1 - October 31 with exception of 2007, where the awards year has been modified to be October 1 - October 31) -- (ODS League shows and practice shows do not count).
    2. Horses must be owned and handled/ridden by current members of ODS in good standing at the time scores are earned.
    3. No minimum number of horses are required.
    4. Scoring for awards in these classes will be based on an averaged score system.
    5. A minimum of two scores from two separately recognized shows is necessary to qualify for year-end awards in each of these divisions. At the end of the competition year, the highest average scoring horse in each of the above divisions will be recognized and published in Flying Changes.
    6. Competitors are not required to submit award report forms in order to be eligible for year-end awards.

    Note: Results from 2003 - 2010 will be published by spring of 2012. They were caught up and awarded in the summer of 2011, thanks to the volunteering effort given by Dolores Morgan.

  • Preliminary List of 2011 ODS DSHB winners - check this list and report errors to the volunteer in charge by 1/30/2012; any errors discovered after this date will only be corrected online (reprints of plates to be at the members' expense)
